El Prieto Trail work

What a day! Approximately 25 volunteers came out to help fix a couple of spots on El Prieto. It was great to see so many people come out and lend a helping hand with one of our most used and beloved trails.

With so many volunteers, we were able to complete all of the lower part of El Prieto.

We created necessary run-offs on parts of the trail…

 

…as well as widened portions of the trail that had gotten precariously narrow over the course of the year.

We collected garbage.

And effectively used the skills of children (JUST KIDDING!!)

Once we completed our work for the day, we reconvened at the small park next to the JPL lot and got our grub on.

All in all, a great day!

Hope to see you on December 15 when we plan on working on Sunset Ridge.
