Farewell to Shamane Morejon
It has been an absolute pleasure working alongside you all, giving back to our trails, and fulfilling our stewardship mission in the midst of the urban jungle. It is with a heavy heart that I must resign early from my term as President of MWBA due to relocation.
Resigning from MWBA is the hardest part of leaving Los Angeles, and I know we will make it through this pandemic as a stronger organization, cultivating a direct impact across communities. Thank you for the laughs, the views, and days of dirt church where I learned much more than anticipated. Looking forward to seeing you all on the trails again!
New Board Members and Committee Appointments
In the last few newsletters, we asked for those looking to contribute to MWBA in a leadership function to please step forward – and step up you did! We owe a great debt of gratitude to all of the volunteers that have given back to our wonderful community. Please welcome the following individuals to our board of directors and committee positions. The remainder of our Board of Directors and committees remain at their posts.
President – Jay Marion
Vice President – Alex Fore
Board Director – Ester Song
Board Director – Carson Blaker
Committee Members – Nona Varnado, Alex Keller, Traece Craig
MWBA Neck Gaiters
New Swag! We worked with our friends at Cutaway USA to create these lightweight, moisture-wicking neck gaiters displaying scenes from the Angeles National Forest photographed by Dustin Perkins. Constructed from a wind-blocking micro-fibre, this versatile accessory can be worn as a traditional neck gaiter, a skull cap, headband, face covering, or balaclava under the helmet. You can pick them up at Road Runner Bags in Los Angeles or have them shipped to your door.
