MWBA (return to Henninger) Pancake Breakfast
It’s getting closer, I can almost taste the pancakes and sausage. This year not only marks the return to Henninger Flats but the return of many of the original MWBA members. Tim Murphy has taken the lead for the event and Pierre will be up there with his band “Wreck N Sow.” We will be showing a documentary film of MWBA building the Ken Burton Trail. Alan Armstrong will be there and of course many of you who remember attending this event several times over the past 20-something years it was held up there. I owe a great thanks to the LBS (Local Bike Shops): Pasadena Cyclery (Alan, and his family, along with Matt), Open Road (Steve), Velo (Harach has attended many of the first events), Temple City Bike Shop (JJ has also attended many of the first events), Jones II (Benson always comes up with the interesting “Mystery Prizesâ€), Steve’s Altadena (Steve), Incycle (Robert). We are still reaching out to other LBS and welcome your help and, of course, swag for the raffle. This event has long-standing tradition of showing our support for keeping the trails open and maintained.
MWBA is an all-volunteer group that will soon be your regional local chapter with IMBA (International Mountain biking Association). Please sign up with us now and show your support!
Since the event at a location via a no public vehicle access fire road, we will only have a few Bike companies; FOES (Brent always helps us out), and Niner will return. We may have a few more. Ray Herrera will have a special VIP area, and Altadena Search and Rescue will be there for support.
Please note that this is a short but steep fire road climb that you can bike up, run up, or just hike up. Biking or running up takes 30-45 minutes while hiking it will take about an hour. We will start serving pancakes at 8:30 AM and end at 11:00AM. The raffle will start immediately after breakfast.
Please feel free to send an email or drop by your LBS for more information. We will try to keep you posted.
