Jenny joined MWBA in 2011 when the organization re-formed in response to the 2009 Station Fire. She has helped to spread the trail work gospel to anyone who will listen, and has been instrumental in building MWBA’s solid trail work volunteer base, along with the various programs created to promote trail work, advocacy and education.
Jenny firmly believes working on the trails you ride is important. Giving back to the sport by helping to maintain the trails and spreading goodwill among all trail users makes a ride more than just a ride, it’s part of a larger picture of building a trail system for future generations to enjoy. Jenny also is an assistant coach with the Southern California High School Cycling League, and volunteers at the races as a roving marshal.
In 2018, the Board created a strategic plan to ensure the MWBA organization was sustainable, just like the trails we build. Jenny and the Board set forth to create programs to deepen our relationship with the USFS and other user-group organizations, as well as look for new funding sources to support our mission.
You can find Jenny on the San Gabriel trails with a McLeod in her hand or on her Superfly, enjoying the work of the MWBA volunteers. Or you can visit her at MWBA’s headquarters, a bloc, a cycling inspired cafe, owned and operated by her and her husbland.
