Brad Benam was born in Munising, Michigan and moved to California in 1974. He has been an avid mountain biker since the mid 80’s with his first bike, a Jamus Cross Country from the BIKE DOCTOR on York Blvd.
You will see him often on Brown Mtn and El Prieto, his favorite trail. But don’t let him catch you riding the shorter lower sections. That’s not the REAL El Prieto trail! When he’s not riding, you’ll find him sailing out of Marina Del Rey. He did trail work with the original MWBA, CORBA and is now a board director with MWBA. Brad’s goal is to keep trails open for all users. It is important to have a free place to play and burn off the day’s stress.
Brad is also one of MWBA’s USFS Certified Chainsaw Sawyers and volunteers his time to remove fallen trees from the trails. Whenever the wind picks up another tree killed by the Station Fire falls and the MWBA Sawyers keep very busy.
